Golden Hour Puffin Safari
Experience the Faroe Islands at nature's quietest and most beautiful time of day.
From mid-June to mid-August, join us on a 90-minute evening RIB boat safari in search of the Faroe Islands' most beloved seabird—the Atlantic puffin. As the evening sun casts a warm golden light across the cliffs and the sea begins to calm, we set out from Gamlarætt Ferry Port to explore the coastline and observe puffins and other seabirds in their natural habitat.
Unlike our more adventurous sea cave expeditions, this tour is all about slowing down and connecting with nature. Every evening, our experienced local skipper selects the best route according to the wind, swell, tides, and sea conditions, ensuring a comfortable journey and the best wildlife opportunities.
Travelling in an open RIB boat is a unique experience. There are no windows separating you from the landscape. Feel the fresh Atlantic breeze, breathe the salty sea air, listen to thousands of seabirds nesting on the cliffs, and watch the golden evening light transform the coastline. Every sense is awakened as you become part of the surrounding nature rather than simply observing it.
For guests who would like an even closer view of the birdlife, high-quality binoculars are available to rent before departure.
Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, photographer, or simply looking for a peaceful evening at sea, the Golden Hour Puffin Safari offers an authentic and unforgettable Faroese experience.
