Ova Stevna is held in memory of Ova Joensen, the legendary Faroese rower who made the incredible journey from the Faroe Islands to Denmark — in a wooden rowing boat "Diana Victoria". His courage and determination are still celebrated today with this vibrant village festival.
This is not a standard sightseeing tour, but a special one-way transfer. We take you by rib boat to Borðan, where you can step ashore and visit the historic Borðan Lighthouse. Here, you’ll have time to enjoy the sweeping coastal views and feel the salty wind before you set off on foot towards the village.
When you arrive, the Ova Stevna festivities will be in full swing — music, food, and community spirit everywhere you turn. And while you’re there, you can visit the Ova Museum, where his boat and story are preserved for all to experience.
It’s a journey that blends Faroese seafaring tradition, local history, and festival joy — a true taste of island life.

Vágsbotn is a charming harbor in central Tórshavn, known for its colorful houses, lively cafés, and beautiful sea views — a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the capital’s maritime atmosphere. Parking is available at Skálatrøð, just a short walk away.
